Could be the thermocouple. How old is the unit. I have a set
of gas logs that has<br>
the same sort of set up. But when I turn them on for the 1st
time, I have to really<br>
heat up the thermocouple with a lighter for quite a while, other wise the
pilot lite <br>
goes out. I think it's just that the thermocouple is cold and
doesn't heat up quickly. <br>
consiquently turning off the pilot light when you release the
"start" button.<br><br>
I'd say try holding the "start" button on for at least a minute
or try using a lighter <br>
to heat it up for at least a minute or two and see if that
works.<br><br>
