Used occasionally to lift light loads for storage.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal">Desire: convert an adjacent 110V 15A quadplex outlets box to one duplex outlet <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal">remaining 15A while splitting the remaining duplex outlet to 2ea outlets, 20A each. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal">In other words, splitting power off the 220V/20A circuit into 2 individual outlets, <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal">110V/20A (utilizing sides A and B from the 220V source).<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal">Here’s the other situation, I want to insert a rotary switch A-OFF-B to switch between <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal">Using ONLY the 220V circuit OR the 110V circuits.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal">Anyone have recommendations as to a recommended rotary chang over switch?<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal">Does this make sense? I have no idea why you want to. Assuming you have a three wire (plus ground, but I’ll ignore ground) circuit to your crqne, you simply extend it to your other box. Break the tab on the hot side of the outlet, land one leg to each hot screw, neutral to the other side. Done. The breaker will take care of overload, it will trip both legs, even if only one is overloaded. <div><br></div><div>Thé problem you are likely to have is you have no neutral at your crane, because most motor loads don’t need one. If you have conduit, adding one is possible and maybe easy. If you don’t, you need to pull a new circuit.
