<DIV>Hi Mark, I found the same on Amazon but the internal threads are 1/2-20 and I need 1/2-13 so that won't work... although the thing on msc site</DIV>
<DIV>might do the trick... I wonder if it's considered a one time on/off adapter, or would it take multiple on/off cycles on the external 5/8" thread ?? </DIV>
<DIV>don't know what the red material on the adapter is.. I'll bookmark that page</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I contacted a local tool repair place (Toolsmith) explained my problem and he found a 6148 spindle (like mine) and he offered to try it in the</DIV>
<DIV>6145 grinder if I brought it by to see if it would fit... he cautioned that the gear drive might be larger for the larger spindle though. I'm gonna go by</DIV>
<DIV>there next week and see what happens</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Worst case is that I use the small spindle grinder for disk that are not threaded and use the spindle nut reversed to take up the slack in a 5/8 hole disc</DIV>
<DIV>and use the grinder with the 5/8 spindle for the threaded stuff... It would be nice if everything worked in everything, but that has never happened in my 73 years </DIV>
<DIV>(tomorrow) on this earth, why should it happen now ???</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>2020 sheese… I think I hear thunder... but based on this year... it could be Godzilla !!!!!</DIV>
