The piston has a simple ring that seals the cylinder and keeps the piston off the cylinder wall. After a while they do get scuffed up, and the fix is to replace the cylinder and seal. If you catch it before the kind of catastrophic damage I have, you just pull the head, unbolt the connecting rod, remove the piston/connecting rod assembly along with the cylinder – and replace them with new parts.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I think I can find all the parts except the connecting rod… following is a diagram. #58 is the cylinder.
