John - If they are just regular parts and not rare/special, I'd
probably just replace them. Since they rusted once, unless
treated/painted well, they will rust again.<br class="">

That said, I do have a thrifty side too. I cleaned some special
bolts with a wire wheel in a bench grinder. Wrap the finger tips of
your gloves in masking tape to make them last a little longer. As
cheap as I was, I still replaced the washers and nuts. I they spray
painted them. You can also replate with kits from various sources,
but that was too much effort for my situation.<br class="">
