Thanks Guys. I was mainly venting. I am able to look online for the differences. I am just frustrated at having to buy yet another battery form and a charger there for. ffs

The picture I showed is what I currently have that fits my palm sander, screwdriver and impact wrench.

What I currently have does not fit the (refurbished) trimmer I just bought.

Happened to me with Makita tools.  If you search for Dewalt adapters you might see one that works, that’s what I did for my Makita.

The trimmer takes a similar but totally different style.
