If you only work on a few vehicles, it might be worth doing it in
advance.  that's especially true if you have something you're planning
on keeping forever, as you'll use it eventually.

I'm firmly in the "nope, not bothering with that." camp, for what it's
worth, and not only because my wife might kill me if I bought more
tools.
