Indeed.  Perhaps the newer model has a more efficient blade design.  Perhaps it spins at a higher rate.  It may have the same performance in spite of the different dimensions.  Try it and lest us know.

Tim – it’s hard for us to say whether the new part will keep your blast cabinet useable, as there are a lot of variables we don’t know… Was the old shop vac doing it really, really well, or just barely keeping up? What is the size difference between the old impeller and the new – 10% less?   25%?  50% ???  Was the old impeller in like-new condition AND larger? Etc…

Got the replacement today. It is about half as thick as the original was. The part number is somehow the same but definitely thinner. 

  

Will my shop vac still suck enough to keep my blast cabinet usable?
