[Shop-talk] What is this called?

There are specialty companies that sell heavy duty vacuum parts. Car
washes, for instance, repair their vacuums all the time.
I have a newer Sears shop vac but opted to fix my old one as well because
it's a far better form factor, being based on a 20-gallon steel drum. The
new vacuums are excessively wide and take up valuable floor space. And
while I always thought the old one was loud, now that I have both working,
the old one has more power (same exact replacement motor) and the new one
is louder.
