[Shop-talk] left the light on?

What other things do you have in mind? This is beginning to sound like a
job for a microcontroller or microcomputer like Arduino or Raspberry Pi -
either of which could easily anchor the light sensor and motion sensor
needed for your foundation use case, plus other functions.
