[Shop-talk] header wrap

I think it does loosen up as it heat-cycles which is why you wrap it fairly tight. It most likely just fell off.

I used a couple feet to patch a break and muffle the noise in an exhaust pipe on my wife's DD. It was held in place with a can and hose clamps. It worked fine for a couple weeks then started to get loud again. Yesterday I pulled the can to see what was going on and just about all the wrap was gone.

I’ve only seen it start to do slowly deteriorate on my own car where the wrap sees the most heat coming out of the engine, or where it gets disturbed such as during a spark plug change - which is the same spot on my car.
