If you press your hand over the outlet of the blaster it will force the air back down the pick-up tube and clear whatever is blocking the inlet.
Takes one second.

Subject: [Shop-talk] blast cabinet issue

 #yiv4206507883 P {margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0;}Hey all,
I have a stand-up HF blast cabinet pushed by a single stage Porter Cable 80-gallon compressor. The compressor runs almost constantly but keeps up just fine. My air is not the driest but I rarely see moisture being blasted on to the metal unless it is summer and more humid.
I am currently using "black blast" from Menards on a 50+ year old drive shaft. It is rusty but is coming clean relatively easy....kinda....
My issue is I get about 20-45 second of real good and quick cleaning/blasting then the stream coming out of the nozzle seems to get weaker and not have much if any media in it. If I clean the intake, it works fine again for a little bit, then get less effective again.
Clearing the intake is easy enough but slows down the process. (this is quite the PITA when the temps are in the 20s or lower.)
Thought on why I have to keep clearing the intake?
Thankstim
