[Shop-talk] stud removal

I think whatever you use, you risk damage to the stud if you're needing brute force to get it out. So try and address that (using heat).
When brute force becomes the only option, I will try and grip the stud in the vice and turn the whatever it's screwed into - or even when I had a spare 3" vice - use the vice as a hand tool!
