[Shop-talk] sound bars, older flat screens, not that big of an audiophile and OT

What model number is the TV? Our first couple of flat screens years were
Aquos. I don't remember them having speaker level outputs, just line level.
You can't/shouldn't try to drive a line level input with a speaker level
signal. You can use a small two or three piece powered speaker system
designed primarily for computer use. The inputs to those are usually 3.5 mm
stereo plugs so you'd need an adapter if the audio outs on the TV are RCA
as I expect they are. ll sorts of choices and prices floating around that
should work for you now and later.
