Air:

(a) Rubber hose.

(b) Distributed clamping and strain reliefs at fittings - I use 2-3
Oetiker-style band clamps with a layer or two of heavy heat-shrink over
the clamps extending out onto the hose.

(c) A lighter-duty more flexible (and presumably stored indoors) whip
hose on the tool/tire chuck will reduce stress on the end of the hose,
where it'll most likely fail.

(d) Then you cut it back six inches and do it again.

Clear brake-bleeder tubing:

(a) Whatever you buy, buy three times what you need so you have it to
swap out when you need to.

(b) McMaster-Carr as a source.

I don't use clear hoses for brake bleeding, I think mine are silicone.
I use three-packs of ketchup bottles from Smart & Final with a piece of
hard brake line down to the bottom of the bottle, the hose over both the
hard line and the squeeze-spout, and a clamp to hold them together.
Add 1in of brake fluid in bottom of bottle, connect, crack bleeder, then
bleed until you've got ~2in of fluid in the bottle. You can also add a
loop of fishing line to hang the bottle from the bleed screw.

John.
