The northeast, in a belt where we're close enough to the ocean for its storms but far enough that we can have long stretches of sub-freezing temps.

It's not a ledge, they're all pieces of New Hampshire that were put into a rock tumbler for a few millenia.

That's a neat idea from an engineering perspective, but I can't help but think you were influenced by the local entertainment culture ;-)
