[Shop-talk] Impact wrenches (heavy duty)

Steve writes about his Makita 1002Z 18v impact gun.


I'm not against these for people to use, but I don't use it enough to 
justify another battery and charger and all that goes with it.  I can see 
that every time I need it, I have to wait for a battery to charge.

I bought a monster compressor and hard lined my shop just for the purpose 
of never worrying about air demands. 

If I did more of this HD work (or if the gun was more useful for general 
use,) I would consider it, but this is a 'last resort' tool, so it doesn't 
make sense for me.
