[Shop-talk] Impact wrenches (heavy duty)

Howdy,

What's your current impact and what air pressure are you running it at?

For 1/2", I have an IR 231 (? I think?) as well as an HF "EarthQuake". The
HF gun seems more powerful, but either is more than happy to spin off the
typical "140 ft-lb 1 ton truck lug nut". I typically run my shop air
around 110psi or so.

For our motorhome / really stubborn stuff, I have a 1" HF impact. I don't
really have the air setup to use it at its full rating, but even with my
standard setup it will knock off the ~600 ft-lb motorhome lug nuts. Its
REALLY heavy though, so it only gets dragged out when the 1/2" guns aren't
up to whatever the task is.
