The purple wire nuts are perfectly fine, when used to the manufacturer's instructions. If you search, you will find the same three or four pictures failed connections, invariably with a recommendation to use a (particular) much more expensive product from a competitor. Were the wire nuts a problem, you'd think the competitor or their sock puppets could come up with more photos.
