[Shop-talk] Tire tread separation

While the separation might be internal, if you can hear and feel it - it's probably external.

If it is external, you should be able to run a [gloved] hand over the tire as it rotates and feel where there is a lump or where the tread shifts side-to-side.

Anyone know how to determine if a tread  is separating on a tire (bias ply)?
I’m hearing a whup-whup-whup which increases with the cars speed.
Tire otherwise looks normal.
