[Shop-talk] Shop fire mitigation

The wood stove was old, but in good shape. The firemen couldn't find an exact cause but said it was "something to do with the wood stove".  I used it a week earlier without any problems. I suspect when I lit it 20 minutes earlier an ember popped out before I got the door closed. 

It's funny that Texas has oil but don't use it for heating. Gas is preferred.

I would want to conclude that someone made some sort of operational error that I know not to repeat or that it was installed wrong and I won't make that mistake.  Otherwise, I think I would look for something else.  Pat, you are in Texas, aren't all Texans supposed to favor oil?  :-)
