I totally agree with what David stated.
I do have one thing to add. If you have Dewalt 18v Nicad tools, Dewalt
offers an adaptor so you can use the new lith-ion batts in them.
This means you don't have to rebuy all your cordless tools.
My 18v dewalts with the new batteries rock!

A 12v lithium ion tool, from any good brand, will outperform your 18b
nicad or nimh tools. Lighter, more powerful , and longer battery life. 18v
lithium ion approach or exceed corded tool performance (except for run
time, but for fit, even serious diy, this is not a problem). Pick your
favorite color, and buy a drill impact driver combo kit to match, and go
to town.
