[Shop-talk] Lithium tool batteries

I have several Sears C3 drills and an impact driver, all of them powered by
Nicad batteries. I bought one Lithium battery and a charger a few years ago
when they had it on sale. I have to say there is a lot to like about them.
They charge faster, and hold their charge longer. They are also quite a bit
lighter and as a result I generally keep the LiOn battery in the impact
driver, since it is a lot more comfortable to use with the lighter battery in
it. I haven't bought any more yet and just switch to an old one while the LiOn
one is charging, but probably will eventually. I don't know how long it will
last, but it does seem like a good, cost efficient way to breathe new life
into a decent, but dated drill.
