[Shop-talk] Need help with dead 2000 GMC 1500 (5.8 Vortec) RESOULTION

OK, here is what ended up happening....

Pulled the truck bed off the truck to access fuel tank w/o dropping it.

Replaced pump, truck runs like champ.

FWIW, it's about a 10min job to remove the bed.  MUCH better than draining 
and removing the tank.
