We bought a few Kubota GL series generators some years back, and
tortured the heck out of 'em.  Ran them constantly for two or three
weeks at a time, shutting down only long enough to change the oil.
Thoroughly satisfactory.  They may not be cheap, though -- I've no
idea what a Generac costs, but here's the first site I came across for
