*I volunteered to "do" **the whistle on a friend's steam tractor and the
dang thing must have weighed 50 pounds and hadn't been polished forever . .
I ended up using a mild scotch-brite*
*wheel on a slow electric drill for the first shine. I finished with a
paste product called "Flitz" on a slow turning cloth wheel and final shine
by hand . . The best hint I have to offer*
*is how to preserve the shine: apply a spray can spritz of silicone
sealer/lube and a quick rub. . . OFTEN. Silicone doesn't dull the shine
like clear lacquer.
*
*For anyone with Army experience and grey hair, I bet you'll be a surprised
as I to find the old "Blitz Cloth" brass shining*
*rag is still to be found on the net.*
