Not sure what "crock" is.  The whole "tub" assy?  Couple things that 
come to mind that might help:  1) HVAC suppliers have float switches for 
drip pans under air handlers and other equipment that might work.  2) IT 
Geek places have water sensors for computer room floors & such.  Google 
should turn up something that would work.
