I've crimped a lot of ferrules over the years. Nothing works like a good tool for the job. It's fast, easy and strong. Done with pliers and chisels and the like, the results are far less impressive. Got a TSC (tractor supply) nearby? Or say a Southern States? They've got good ferrule crimping tools right there on the shelf.
