Years ago (when in college) a good friend of mine (also a car nut) got
in a bit of an argument with his architect professor.  My friend was
designing a house and specified a lot of outlets and plenty of room in
the garage.  The professor argued that anything more than a single
overhead light was a waste of time/money, and even argued with him about
the necessity of including a garage in a house design.
