Mark,

I found an email from an architect friend.  I was trying to validate 
my dad's home
owners ins. policy and asked him what the current costs for building were.

As of Nov. 07, here in Va. Beach, a garage would cost $30-$50 / sq ft.

I don't know if that's unfinished/finished.   I'd assume that the $30 would be
unfinished or maybe just a little less, and the $50 would be finished and or
with niceties like the dormers, etc.
