While we're on the subject:

The manual to my 120 volt Lincoln welder says
that for maximum output, it should be plugged into a 25 amp outlet.  But does
such a thing even exist?
Is there in theory a type of 120V outlet meant for
more than 20 amps?

I've never even seen a single-pole circuit breaker higher
than 20 amps.
