I teach my welderettes (I've found women to be superior welders, once trained) to keep the feed roll pressure to a minimum. Rollers slip when the wire hits a surface not connected to the work cable and gas purges the cablehose. And absolutely no birdnesting of the wire. As always, YMMV.
