Just like any good tool, it takes a bit of care to not damage things.  But
yes, it's quite doable.  The trick is to get a fan-type nozzle and not get
it too close to anything that is fragile.  Painted surfaces are safe to just
a few inches, likely you should stay a foot or more away from seals, etc.
Just like those "do it yourself" car washes.
