What about something like this:

For $40 you get a pair of ramps designed to do what you want them to
do. Actually, I just got a 15% any item coupon, and I bet everybody
else on the mailing list did too. A couple of 8' 2x12's will probably
set you back $25, then a few bucks worth of material to reinforce
them, and you're still on something rigged up.
