I'd always heard it called "the blue wrench".

Seems like my mechanic buddies say "tor -- x" vs. "torx"

Pickle fork instead of ball joint separator.

Side cutters instead of wire snips or diagonal cutters or whatever they're 
really called.

I'm sure there's more (and that they're different)
