Don’t know about Restore and Protect. But modern oil standards do not include lead or ZDDP additives which were there to protect flat tappet engines. I always use Valvoline VR1 non synthetic racing oil. It contains sufficient levels of ZZDP and low levels or low sudsing detergents.

I have been told that I should never use synthetic oil in my 235.  However, I understand that Valvoline Restore & Protect works wonders for cleaning and restoring engines.  Is it safe to use in a 1957 235?
