I can't help you, but I'm interested. I hope to be facing this same problem
in a year or so in my 55-1st.
Got the IFS installed and should be getting the rest of the frame
sandblasted in August. Harry

Subject: [Oletrucks] 55-1st P U Door Windows Two to One Piece
Wondering if anyone is left out there & sure could use some help. Smart me,
without completely checking went to one piece door windows eliminating the
wing windows.
Two things: Window hits the 55-1st window regulator cranking mechanism when
down about 3'' & will not raise the one piece window evenly. Stock 55-1st
regulator mechanism is directly below the wing window & assume smaller
window lifts fine.
My hopeful fix: According to Truck Shops Catalog stock 55-1st ( window /
wing ) regulator has one lifting pivot attached to the window setting
channel as the 47~50 regulator ( one piece window ) has a two point ( second
arm ) assuming it clears the one piece window & lifts evenly.
Could go to electric windows but really do not want to - something else
electrical to go wrong with a sitting vehicle.
The rub, was told 47~50 regulators would not fit the 52~55 doors - catalog
calls for 47~50 and 52~55 doors assuming differences of wing window &
possible holes in the window regulator mounting area - knowing GM little as
possible changes.
Any details of these two different model doors in the window regulator
mounting /crank area would be greatly appreciated,
Jim
