We just had a Tractor Supply store open a few months ago less than 2 miles
from my house.

I too am not far enough along yet to give it try (CAB still off of frame),

Henry,

IIRC, there's something funky about the flywheels between 6 vs 12 volt 
235s and/or mechanical vs solenoiod starters.
You may have change your flywheel or have a custom starter built to do 
what you want.
I suggest checking with the guys at www.Inliners.org and www.Stovebolt.com

I don't think you'll be very happy trying to make the stovebolt 
mechanical stater drive work with the v-motor.
Take a look at how the linkage bolts to the bellhousing and you'll see 
what I mean/
However I've been contemplating this for my 57 and I have an idea I 
think will work.
If you go to Tractor Supply and look at part #0236643, it's a floor 
mounted push button starter switch.

I believe this will fit in the hole in the floor where the starter rod 
pokes through.  It could be wired to operate the starter solenoid,
taking power from the ignition switch and the neutral safety switch to 
avoid the safety problem previously discussed.
It has a steel cap, so a 3/8 bolt could be tack welded to it to provide 
a place to attach the started pedal.
I believe the rubber boot would cover everything up and it would look
stock.
The push angle would be different, but I think it would still work.
I haven't got my 57 far enough along to try this yet, but it's in the
plan.
