i HATE the 54 grill and the 54 cab is okay but the dash is bugly.
however-that doesnt detract from the fact that i know it WILL bolt on/interchange.
swap front groups between ANY chevy from 47 to 55e and they will bolt on.
that INCLUDES 2 and 3ton trucks with halftons.
really.
if using stock frame there will be conflicts with core support between big and little trucks but they all use teh same cab mounting.

you can NOT swap GMC onto a chevy on a stock frame.
you CAN go the other way around with spacers and mods.

Well, after years of thinking about it I am about ready to start on the
rebuild of my 1951 pickup. One thing that I am thinking about doing will not
sit well with some people (those who prefer that these trucks be restored
completely original), but for others it may be interesting. I really like the
grill on the 1954 trucks and am interested in installing one on my 1951. There
are problems with the 1954 grill fitting to the 1951 fendeers, I have the
complete sheet metal for the front fenders and grill from both trucks. I'm
wondering if the 1954 fenders will fit right to the 1951 cab? Does anyone
know? Thanks for any suggestions - even if they are contrary to what I plan to
try.
