[Oletrucks] dextron vs mercon

	The short answer is, that you can supposedly use the newer dextron fluids in 
a transmission requiring Mercon, but not the other way around.  The fluids 
that meet the specs for both transmissions will indicate that fact on the 
label.  For thirty years, I have been selling a synthetic fluid that exceeds 
the specs for both fluids, and this question has come up repeatedly.  
	I am going to guess that there is an exception somewhere, but I have not seen 
a GM transmission that required a Mercon fluid.
