Maybe I'm not enough of a connoisseur, but I love my 235. It was very
carefully rebuilt and it is rock solid and smooth. My truck is a 1959
Chevy 3200. The original engine was un-rebuildable so I got a 1962
235 block. Just sayin....

if you are willing to do some frame crossmembers then my personal
choice for
an inliner is a 250 chevy from 63? to 198x with an automatic 700R4

you can also bolt any GM trans to the motor with a post 1955
bellhousing.

Hi guys,
HAPPY NEW YEAR to start with...

Got a guy with a 52 with a worn out 55-235 engine and wanting to
replace the
engine with as little hassle as possible and upgrade to a more modern 6
cylinder. Anyone have an idea what might be an easy swap or what
engines can
he use and still keep the original tranny? Anybody replaced the entire
engine/tranny with a more modern 6 cylinder engine?
