Hello British Car Fans,

 

It is time for our Annual Ron Englehardt / Rites of Spring Ride.

 

I think it only fitting that we go out to the Rock overlooking the Ocean at
the top of

Coleman Valley Road.

 

This time I want to do the ride in reverse ( no silly, not the gear ).

 

So we will be meeting at Bad Ass Coffee in Santa Rosa on Saturday May 21

at 10AM for a 10:30 departure. 

 

We will head out to Occidental through a series of twisty back country roads
and then

turn right onto the Bohemian Highway and go out to the Coast through Duncan
Mills.

We will make a stop in Duncan Mills for those who want to buy Sandwiches and
the like.

 

Then we will head South down Highway 1 to Coleman Valley Road and climb up
to the lunch spot.

 

Of course bad weather or dead cars could change all of the above serious
planning.

 

It is highly recommended to bring a folding chair, a full tank of gas and
your lunch. Maybe a blanket too!

Marin Improvement Association (SMIA) Classic Car Exposition on May 5th, 
2012 at All Saint's Church in Novato.

I would appreciate it if you could share this with your members...the 
show is low-key and short (4 hours) - perfect timing to arrange a drive,

The show is generally under-represented in the British Car realm and I 
would love to see some British iron (and aluminum) attend.

Destination is 1 mile or so up Coleman Valley road from Hwy 1 on the Coast.
Go out River Rd through Guerneville, Monte Rio, and Duncans Mills, hang a
left when you hit Hwy 1, and go several miles south.  Coleman Valley Rd.
will be a small 1.5 lane road on the left.  Go up the hill and you'll see
'em.

Hello NOBBC Members,

It is that time again, spring is here, the weather is beautiful, and the
racing season is in full swing everywhere, and that means it it once again
time for the Sonoma Historics event at Infineon Raceway. And once again,
Infineon will have room set aside for our club members to have a car corral.
We will have space in the turn three / four area where there will be room to
display our beloved LBC's, rest rooms, a short walk to the turn two area, full
shuttle service to the main paddock area and the Wine Country Pavilion, where
we can taste wine and food offerings from all over Napa and Sonoma, and of
course, a multitude of beautiful touring and race cars of a bye gone era, from
all over. Ticket sales and reservations will be handled through Infineon
Raceway, just open the link below, and you can purchase event tickets which
includes entry to the wine pavillion, and car corral tickets which includes
laps on the track at the end of each day. Let's show the folks at Infineon a
large turn out of some beautiful LBC's, the more the better.

For those who might be interested in the Sonoma Historicks event at Infineon,
below is the time and price infor for the Friday car caravan, nice drive
before lunch, lunch and wine tasting at the Keller Estate Winery, then back to
the track, and do laps in your car. The owner of Keller Estates has a modest
car collection, part of which we will get to see. In particular, he has a 1957
Ferrari 250 race car that is just beautiful, and if we can beleive the
employees, he sometimes drives it through the vineyards. Hey why not? it can't
get hurt there, and it can be somewhat dangerous to take a car worth
upwards of six million bucks out on the street. This is a great event, I do it
every year, come join us.
And don't forget the NOBBC car corral up in the turn three area all three
days.
