Message-ID: <4EB1C573.8050402@gmail.com> Well, Folks, I thought by waiting until today to receive all RSVPs there would be plenty of time to make a reservation for our club lunch at Mary's Pizza in Rohnert Park. No such luck! The place is booked, so the location has been changed to the Sebastopol Mary's Pizza. Same time, just a little further west and north. If you planned to come and can't make it to the new location, please let me know. Would like to get into a Lotus Esprit and took this one for a test drive on Sat. morning: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/ctd/2683494518.html Drove well but paint is very good for 1985 and looks like it has been resprayed albeit partially. I have questions like is this an original Lotus colour? Interior looks original but what am I looking for when I am scoping out a stock lotus esprit? Not a Lotus expert but would anyone be interested to come down and look over the car with me or know any one that could? Happy to pay you for your time, buy you lunch etc. . I would be part exchanging my b79 spitfire in the process. Car drove well. I can send you pictures or post to the facebook page. Love some advice with this as there is another one being checked out by close friend at a Ferrari dealership in Denver: http://www.ferrariofdenver.com/index.cfm/ID/13/Lotus This looks more like the original paint, which I am interested in and it means a lot to me. Anyhow. I am open to suggestions and would love club advice about how to welcome a new car into NOBBC and attend drives. Thanks in advance for the advice! My idea is to drive up to the intersection at the ridge top and have our sack lunches on the hoods of our cars or in a field and then drive back down. This ride/route is not set in stone and is subject to the whims of the group assembled that day. It is just my suggestion and it could very well change. I heard a rumor that Dan was planning on leading the ride on the 19th so we will have to see what happens. We now have 5 members in the LEMONS race team. Myself, John Kenner, Mike Gianandrea, Walter Kilchherr, and David Wilson. We will not be communicating through Yahoo, or NOBBC, so will be giving you all updates once in a while when something is worth mentioning. At present we have obtained a donation of a Spitfire with a Buick V6 and 5 speed transmission in the car. Free, so we have $500.00 to spend getting it ready for racing. The Spit is in pretty bad shape, though we did get the motor to run with fuel poured into carb. There is no floor pan on the drivers side, but that's the only bad body work problem and Mike says it's easy, so there you go. Our biggest challenge at this point is the roll cage. 24 Hours of Lemons is really tough on safety and the cage is an issue. We are continuing to consider other options, so if you have something laying around that might be a better candidate, please let us know. We do have room for one more person on the team. It looks like the total cost to each person is going to run about $1000.00 +or- depending on our fire suits helmets, and shoes. If any of you have any racing stuff that meets standard and you want to move it...cheap...let us know. Our theme at this point is James Bond. Maybe wear tuxedos or paint on the fire suit. Trying to figure a way to add a few features to make us more competitive, like an oil spray, smoke (probably already there), spikes, machine gun, whatever. Having fun so far and it should get better when we get on the track. The mounts must be on a strong base...The angles must be correct.... Your suits, underwear, shoes, gloves will be inspected closely for holes.. You are all welcome! If you want to submit cool photos, do so on the Yahoo Group, and I'll pick the best ones to rotate through the website to keep it looking fresh. So far, I am the only one who has added all of the photos and albums (except for a few from John - thank you), so please take advantage of this feature.
