If I recall, the lever is the same as that on a TR6. If so, I have one you can borrow, Gerry.

Subject: [Nobbc] TR gear shift lever?

Hi all,

Does anyone here have a spare TR gearshift lever they can loan me?
The TR4 is nearly ready for some road testing but we want to do that
using the stock tranny and I've already converted the stick for the
W58 5-speed. I'd probably only need it for a couple weeks or so and
promise to return it in good condition.

Or if you know of a source of a cheap but functional stick and can
point me in that direction I'd be grateful... even grateful enough to
buy ya a pint of that Olde Speckled Hen.

Any help will be appreciated.

BTW.... Olde Speckled Hen on tap is 4.5% alcohol, so, were one to
consume a US pint you'd be getting .72 oz of alcohol. If you had an
imperial pint (20 oz) you'd get .9 oz of alcohol. While there is no
doubt that any amount of alcohol is detrimental to the skill needed
for driving, the amount here is either the about half of what you'd
get from a shot of 100-proof whiskey for the US pint. That's not too
much and I'd suggest that talking to your passenger or having any
distraction (radio, phone, scenic view, concern about engine over-
heating etc.) is going to be at least on a par in terms of negative
effect. Just my 2 cents worth.

Gerry
