[Nobbc] Local MGB repair/modification

We have a 1979 MGB with a throwout bearing that is going out.  We've thought
about several things including tranny swap to a 5 speed, engine and tranny
swap 
to a ? engine with a 5 speed, getting a tranny with an overdrive or just
repairing the throwout bearing.  We would like to hear any opinions and would
be 
interested in local repair shops to talk to or any information on engine
swaps.
