It featured historic MG race cars and there were some of the most amazing cars I've ever seen. But what was really impressive were the many, many cars that showed up on Saturday in the club parking area. Bs, As, Ts, and others. I'd love to know how many actually ended up in the paddock area. The track tour, although a bit sedate for some of us, was impressive. All those MGs out on the track together. If something like this occurs again at Infineon or Laguna Seca, you owe it to yourself to attend. It's something you'll never forget. It was lots of fun. I heard a figure of 65 cars on the noontime parade laps. Good turn out and to see the historics with one race devoted to MGs exclusively was awesome. I stayed the whole day wandering between viewing races and talking to drivers and photographing their unique cars. Fun day! Also nice to parade in from Port Sonoma behind my "twin" Andy Preston. The drive was tons of fun. We went through Santa Rosa to Kenwood then Sonoma Mountain Road and Pressley Road. Dennis drove the yellow MG and I was navigator. The only problem that we had was somehow the already broken muffler rotated 180 degrees and melted a hole in the bottom of the bumper. It does add a little more character to the look of the car, but does anyone know of a cheap rear rubber bumper? Cheers! Dennis and Sheryl 1976 MGB x2 ________________________________ From: G. So far I have received RSVP'S for 27 people and 16 cars. This statistic is for the nice people who have volunteered to bring side dishes so you know how much to make. I have the following commitments: pasta salad 2 dishes potato salad 2 dishes salad or veggie 3 dishes desert 4 dishes baguettes 1 supplier So if any more of you would like to RSVP, I need to know by Tuesday. After that I will send out the final count and start rounding up the chickens. We could still use beverages, sausages, chips, sausages and sausages. We will be meeting at Bad Ass coffee at 10am for a strict 10:30 am departure. We will head out highway 12 to Freestone Valley Ford Road which we will take to Highway 1. We will go down the Coast to just before Pt Reyes Station where we will head east to the Cheese Factory. Any Marin Members who wish to meet us there are always welcome to do so. We should be at the Cheese Factory at about 11:30ish. We will stop there for approx. 15 minutes then head back north via Marshall road to Wilson Hill Road to Chelano Valley Road and I'll work out the rest later this week. Arriving at my place between 12:30 and 1pm for lunch. A final email with final route details will be forthcoming during the week. Prepare to have fun with a big turnout. We have lots of couples coming on this ride and most of them are only bringing 1 car. Unfortunately, he isn't interested in red cars (like mine) but some of you lot may want to give this a try. Abraham will be joining this list server to post directly or you can contact him by email or the number below. He will be flying up from SoCal Saturday but too late for our picnic. My name is Abraham and I am prop stylist for catalog photo shoots. I am coming to Santa Rosa early next week for a clothing catalog. We are staying in Santa Rosa and will be shooting in the surrounding areas. We are looking for a classic convertible to use as a prop in a few of our pictures. I wanted to check with your car club and see if any of your members may be interested in renting a car for a couple days. Of course we would like the owner to bring the car and watch it while we shoot, or we can provide insured transportation. We can work out those details later. I've attached a reference of the type of cars we are looking for, but really any classic convertible could work. Please let me know if this is something you might be interested in. Thanks for the great ride John, it was nice being able to relax in the "cradle" instead of having to lead. I think this is a good time to switch over to our warm weather schedule. For those of you new to the club, we will have two rides every month (usually 2nd and 4th Saturdays) starting at 10AM (usually at Bad Ass) and include a picnic lunch stop. I'm hoping more people will step up and volunteer to plan/lead rides so we get a bit more variety. If we have no preset destination the group present will decide. That being said, this is the Nobbc and we don't have any rules so anyone of you can lead a ride anywhere leaving at any time from anyplace. That should be broad enough to generate some new ideas!
