I've participated in this event in the past. It's a "gimmick" type  
rally; you are given navigation directions to follow and observations  
to note. It's conducted over all kinds of fun and beautiful Sonoma  
County backroads and streets but none of them "off road" in any way.  
It's more "California Mille" than "Paris-Dakkar".
