That's cool. It was a learning experience for Trish and me, and as our club grows, and as more members lead tours, we'll come up with great solutions such as we have been discussing. I think it's great that we have enough new members on these drives that we even have to work out these details.
Cheers,
Greg

Wasn't criticizing you Greg. You did as good a job as possible.

Dean,
Yeah, I was upset about it too, since the whole point is to stay
together as a group, and no one wants to get left behind. It wasn't
intentional, and it wasn't for lack of effort on my part. I was told by
Andy that we were waiting on Norm, and then after another 20 minutes
passed, as I was putting my camera away in our car, I was told that we
were all ready and that I should start to gather everyone up and move
out. In hindsight I should have not have listened to those instructions,
instead conducting my own survey. It was being made clear to me by
several people that they wanted to get moving, and I let that put
pressure on me to move out.
I did wait on the side street, and it appeared to me that everyone had
gotten in line before I got moving again. I did give my cell phone
number out, both before the drive by email and on the day of the drive
to those who asked, and I did post the route days before, and I did show
the route to everyone, but yeah, next time I'll take more complete
charge and not let myself get confused by the mixed signals. The other
method of the last car using headlights sometimes works, but with this
long of a line that isn't a perfect solution. Cell phones and/or radios
are a good idea. Sorry you were chagrined.
