No one has stepped forward with a ride plan so the group present will decide. There is still time for discussion on the club list server so this may change. The ride will meet at 11AM in the commuter lot west of 101 on River Rd. unless someone on the list server comes up with another plan. If you're still not a member of the club list server, I urge you to go to http://autox.team.net/mailman/listinfo/nobbc and sign up so you won't miss the latest information. Wendell will be hosting his boxing day run again this year meeting in front of the cheese factory on Sonoma town square on the 26th. so there will be at least one more ride this month. Wine Country Car Club was formed about the end of October with the first run on Nov. 3. It is very similar to NOBBC except it's open to most collector cars. When formed we didn't call it Sports Car club because we didn't want to scare off the person with the 39 Packard and it wasn't called Classic Car Club because we wanted the sports cars to show up too. Like NOBBC there are no dues, and no newsletter. The only difference is that it's open to pretty much anything that's interesting. So that includes the Alfa, Porsche, Stutz, Mustang, Model A Ford, Volkswagen Beetle... You probably get the idea. It has nothing to do with the Wine Country Classic vintage race at Sears Point. The runs are intended to be short, approx. 60 miles and end at an affordable but nice restaurant to keep the ladies interest in coming along. Andy and Marla's event will be the second one. The runs are monthly, but December was skipped because of the holidays. Hope this clears up any questions. Some of our members, like Trish and I, own classics other than British (perish the thought), and the selection of routes and destinations may be different than those NOBBC members choose. There may be some overlap and scheduling conflicts for drives, but the NOBBC is such a casual organization and drive attendance is often limited to a regular core of people. As a result, the new club may appeal to different people at different times. For example, the Golden Gate Lotus club drives, are, I've been told, more about routes and speed rather than destination. Alfa club drives are usually about interesting destination, occasionally with a lot of speed thrown in! Cheers, Greg Ron Engelhardt wrote: > Well, there it is folks!
