I was wondering if you could send this email and pictures around to your members to see if there was someone interested in a great "project car." Wouldn't take much to get this one back in shape and back on the road. (Not running now) Looking for a best offer. Thanks! (Please respond to this email with your contact information/questions). Recently, I started to have brake drag problems, and decided that the front calipers were shot, because I could not get the pistons to retract freely. Replaced the calipers, and all seemed well. The truck took a few months off, and I got back in it this week. It would run fine for a while, and then the brakes would begin to drag, and they were glowing red hot the other night. Now, all four brakes are locked. Is there some kind of valve in the caliper that I was supposed to have disabled? Or is this just a problem with my master cylinder not retracting properly? It worked find for 8 years/30000 miles. I don't know if he did a rebuild then or not. I didn't rebuild it when I replaced the calipers. He monitors this list, so he might chime in and let me know. Flex hose collapse? I guess I can get new hoses made up on the island and give it a try. KWW Gerard Chateauvieux wrote: > Hi Kevin, > > I would investigate the condition of the flex hoses. I disconnected a flex hose as the chassis side, and the brakes remained locked. Disconnected that hose at the caliper side, and it freed itself. No compressor handy, but you can't blow air through the hose with lung pressure. I'll try to get my local NAPA to make a set. Here in South America, it doesn't matter whether you import things from the US or Britain, shipping times and costs are outrageous.
